The Message of Grace
The grace of God provides what we cannot produce ourselves. John 1:14 says, The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. (NIV)
When we discuss the grace of God, we are motivated to trust God rather than fear God. Grace empowers righteous living. Grace motivates obedience because God has given us all we need. Grace leads to freedom and victory. Grace reminds us that God is the Source of all that is required.
However, many misunderstand grace.
- Grace is not a license to sin. It does provide the motivation to resist sin.
- Grace does not encourage sin. A true understanding of grace never takes sin lightly.
- God does not de-emphasize truth.
In fact, the message of grace…
- Confronts sin.
- Calls for commitment.
- Provides meat for the soul.
Hebrews 2:9 records, But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone. (NIV)
- Grace does remind us of God’s forgiving nature.
- Grace does provide hearers an opportunity to accept or reject the message.
- Grace does help us trust God to accomplish His way in His time.
THIS WEEKEND
As we prepare to study Hebrews 2 this weekend, will you please pray that as we learn about God’s judgment, every person who attends will have confidence in God’s graciousness toward us and pray that God will give me the wisdom to communicate God’s justice and His grace through the Word of God?
Ben Utecht Singing
This weekend former Connection Pointe member and Super Bowl winner, Ben Utecht, will sing at all Sunday services.

I look forward to worshipping with you and your guests on “Super Sunday” as we learn about the Superior Man, Jesus Christ, and crown Him with glory and honor.
