CONNECTIONS

WEEKEND SERVICES

Middle School Ministry

The Middle School Ministry provides a safe and relevant environment for middle school students.

Connecting with Jesus and each other is our ultimate desire and you can expect to have fun doing both here with us. We think that life is better when we share it with other people and we hope that students find meaningful relationships here. Come see what we're all about!

Purpose

We help middle school students personalize a faith of their own, in order to prepare them for a lifetime of ministry and influence.

Strategy

By using relevant and intentional environments we hope to:

1.  Challenge the teenage mindset with God's perspective.
2.  Provide a comfortable place for students to connect.
3.  Teach students to "eXperience 3."
4.  Encourage every student to join a small group.
4.  Provide areas of service for students.

Crave is the discipleship environment for middle school students, emphasizing worship through music, teaching and small groups. Crave meets Sundays at 10 and 11:30 am in the Gym Loft.

CURRENT SERIES:

When we were growing up, our family was everything to us. They were the safe place to run to. They were the calm in the storm. They were the people whose opinions we trusted most and whose advice we took to heart. But over the years, especially the teen years, the voices of our mom and dad become more like nails on a chalkboard than the sweet sound of comfort. So what happened? Our relationship evolved. And while that isn’t necessarily the most comfortable thing in the world for a teenager to go through, it also isn’t the worst thing either. So what do we do as our students become less and less willing to listen to the wisdom their families give? How do we handle the everyday conflicts that come up between students and their families? These are important questions worth finding answers to. Because, let’s face it, the relationship is changing. But as difficult as this may be to handle right now, that change can be for the good of everyone.

February 26
Session One: Adapt
Bottom Line: Growing away from our families feels uncomfortable, but it’s an essential part of growing up.

March 4
Session Two: Adjust
Bottom Line: When your parents are no longer the primary voice speaking into your life, you need someone else speaking into your life with wisdom.

March 11
Session Three: Advance
Bottom Line: Wherever you are in your family relationships right now, your goal should be making less of yourself and more of Jesus.

Why is there Sunday morning programming for students?

  • Convenient for families
  • Consistent student participation
  • Easy for students to get and stay connected
  • More students attend on Sunday

Why is there a small group focus?

  • Easier to meet people in a large church
  • Helps enforce concept and importance of small groups in the student mind
  • Helps students stay connected routinely
  • Consistent leaders each week for the students
  • Leader serves as another "voice" for the family
  • Stays consistent with church's focus on small groups

What's the best way for my student to get/stay connected?

Join a small group.

  • Middle School small groups meet during Crave at 10 or 11:30 am in the Gym Loft.
  • High School small groups meet during Focus at 10 or 11:30 am in the Gym.

Once the student has joined, it's important for the student to attend the same hour each week to meet with the same students and same leader. This helps build community with the other students and trust in the leader.

Is joining a small group hard?

Not at all! Joining a student small group is very easy. It's as easy as filling out a small group profile sheet, which is done at On Deck or by picking up the form at the Small Group Kiosk in the Lobby.

What is On Deck?

  • A group that...
    • gives new students a chance to join a group.
    • explains why we do small groups.
    • provides place for students whose small group leader is absent.
    • meets at the end of Crave and Focus services.

What's the best way for me to stay informed?

  • Subscribe to Student Blog ... here.
  • Subscribe to CPCC Enews.
  • Stay in contact with student's small group leader.
  • Visit Small Groups Kiosk.
  • Read weekend program.
  • Give us a call @ 317.852.2221.
  • Send us an email @ students@cpccweb.org.

We offer many special events during the year that are fun & life changing!

So You Want To Get Baptized...

If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, then you are ready to be baptized! The Bible teaches that baptism demonstrates we have received God's grace by putting faith in Christ, repenting of sin and confessing Christ. Just like a bride and groom demonstrate their shared love for one another by wearing wedding bands, your baptism is your opportunity to show others that you have accepted Christ and have a relationship with Him.

It is not only a symbol that you are committed to Christ, but it also represents the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Those who have been baptized in a form other than total immersion, such as christening or dedication, are immersed to become members of Connection Pointe.

To find out what other students think, watch student baptism video.
